The Boris Lawrence Henson Foundation (BLHF) Conference and Benefit Dinner will provide an opportunity to exchange ideas around normalizing the conversation of mental illness in the African-American community. Therapists, community organizations, thought leaders, influencers and policy makers will come together to collectively identify national trends that have been barriers to mental health treatment in the black community, discuss strategies to end mental health stigma, and seek pathways to combine resources in order to support those who need help.

THE STATE OF MENTAL HEALTH IN THE BLACK COMMUNITY
1 out of 5 Americans suffer with mental illness. African-Americans are the least likely population to seek treatment. Proceeds from this event will support access to therapy for African-Americans who may not have the means to cover expenses.
