Our Programs

BMHA advances behavioral health equity through four interconnected program areas that strengthen knowledge, increase access to care, and cultivate spaces for healing across the Baltimore region.

Our work centers culturally responsive approaches that honor lived experience, community voice, and the realities communities navigate every day. Together, these initiatives strengthen systems of care and support emotional and mental well-being for children, youth, adults, and families.

Mental Health Education

We provide culturally grounded mental health education that builds understanding, reduces stigma, and supports people in making informed decisions about their well-being.

Through workshops, trainings, and community learning experiences, we increase mental health literacy and share practical tools that individuals, families, and community leaders can use to recognize needs, support one another, and navigate care with greater confidence.

Resources & Referrals

We connect individuals and families to trusted, culturally relevant behavioral health providers and community-based supports.

BMHA serves as a bridge between community members and affirming care by offering guidance, referrals, and navigation support that reflect people’s lived experiences and unique needs. Our approach prioritizes clarity, dignity, and access to care that is responsive and respectful.

Community Outreach

We engage communities across the Baltimore region through relationship-centered outreach and programming rooted in lived experience.

Our outreach efforts build awareness, strengthen trust, and foster connection by meeting people where they are—partnering with local organizations, community leaders, and residents to ensure behavioral health resources are accessible, relevant, and grounded in community voice.

Affirming & Healing Spaces

We create safe, welcoming, and healing-centered spaces where Black children, youth, and adults can find support, connection, and pathways to well-being.

These spaces are designed to foster belonging, resilience, and restoration—offering environments that affirm identity, encourage healing, and support long-term emotional and mental health.
